Company profile
Renzo Fantoni for a long time he became interested in the hot-precision molding of turbine blades designed to thermal power plants, nuclear and gas. For materials and their treatments collaboration / relationship with the laboratories of the most important steel mills and with internationally known clients has been very close (Franco Tosi & Ansaldo, Alsthom, Gec, ABB, KWU, Siemens, GE, De Laval) the evolving needs of customers has forced the company and Fantoni himself to a strong research to respond to new technological challenges in order to achieve advanced positions. In company also they produced knives for professional use and home. Not for nothing in the English language "blade" means both the blade and the blade. For knives from home, when in the world design was regarded as an unnecessary sophistry, the designer was an important figure and often indispensable.
The Fantoni, without a doubt, was the first in the field of sporting knives to take more than 20 years ago, the intervention of a designer, Moris Baroni. The results of this cooperation have been excellent. Even today, many products have remained unaltered as designed, as current. For the US market, it was also required cooperation of other designers or custom makers as R.W. Loveless, William W. HARSEY and finally Chris Reeve. Danilo Roman Ross has designed some knives and tools. He began to collaborate with the young and passionate designers Tommaso Rumici. In Fantoni time he assumed positions of some importance in the Industry associations (Member of the Committee of the Small & Medium Industry Association of Pordenone Industrial, and then Chairman of the Export Bees in Pordenone) first promoter among other things, a series of conferences on the concept of "just in time" in the Company subsequent to the introduction of the Quality assurance System.
Knowledge were also transferred to the maximum extent possible the high quality sports cutlery. Fantoni Srl offers fixed blade knives in martensitic stainless steels hot pressed for hunting, folding knives with hot printed directories (the first to use this system in the industry) in austenitic stainless steels, ferritic and martensitic.
Beside that produces knives obviously made from tapes. On the market today are of maximum excellence steels for chemical composition and mechanical properties but which do not lend themselves to the way in which they have been processed to the hot pressing. And not only. Even ancillary materials are the subject of careful choices. Also in this case the knowledge, experience and practice of Fantoni have been of great help in the definition of the product lines and the relevant manufacturing processes (where the thermal and surface treatments play an important relief).
Fantoni Srl, confirming its technological knowledge, is proud to announce that works with some of the most advanced steel mills in research (Sandvik and Crucible) to test new types of steel to be allocated to the high-quality knives. Relationships with customers, past and new, located in several parts of the world is of great help in making to grow the knowledge that enable the development of new product and process technologies. Fantoni from the utmost importance to involve designers in this innovation activities. Fantoni has produced and continues to produce for prestigious brands but is now pleased to offer the market with its own brand.
