Designed specifically for the seven Mercury Program astronauts, the Model 17 accompanied these pioneers on the United States' first manned space flights. Astronaut Gordon Cooper contributed to the final design of this knife, making it not only a survival tool, but also a piece of history. Two examples of this knife, rich in historical value, are currently on display at the Smithsonian Institution.

Nino Morittu creates unique knives, pieces of rare artisanal beauty designed, drawn and finished personally. Custom by Kevin Wilkins from 2005 from a private collection provided with original certificates signed by the craftsman.

Slight regrinding, perfectly centered blade with good retention from closed, fluid opening movement and blade without any horizontal or vertical clearance once opened. The frame lock engages in the first quarter of the race without any uncertainty and without sticking.

Globally in good condition, it shows some small marks on the G11 handles and on the back and belly of the liners. A small abrasion on the blade, on the right side near the tip of the knife.
