Extrema Ratio is delighted to apply the strict military standards to a range of professional kitchen knives.

The steel blade is the proven BOHLER N690, a steel enriched with chrome, vanadium, molybdenum and cobalt, hardened to the hardness of 58HRC. The handle is made of Forprene, an elastomer that is in the "NATO standard" for resistance to extreme conditions, and is completely removable from the blade; this makes possible a thorough cleaning and maintenance of the knife.

Each knife comes with its own sheath, also of military origin, which does not take into account the rules of hygiene but ensures safe transport dell'affilatissima blade and protection from shocks that could reduce efficiency. We recommend to use it only for the transport and in the event of long periods of inactivity.

Until the early years of the '900 was commonly carry in your pocket a boxcutter by utility but, with a succession of cases of "misuse" of these objects, the law imposed the cutting or cutting-off of the tip of the blade to limit the harmfulness . The Selvans is born from the collaboration between Extrema Ratio and FISSS (Italian Federation of Sports and Experimental Survival). The project consists of modifying Ontos, a military survival knife, to accentuate and maximize the knife's performance as a hiking tool.

The handle has been lengthened and the blade weighed down to facilitate the effectiveness of the cutting strokes and to make more use of the inertia of the blow.

Il nome è quello della corta ed appuntita daga romana, ma la forma dell,impugnatura a osso di seppia rastremato sui lati ricorda quella dei lunghi pugnali caucasici.

Daghetta da stivale, un back up da difesa, ottima scelta per il porto dissimulato. La lama arrotata a rasoio e l'assenza di guardie elimina la possibilità di impigliamenti nelle tecniche di CQC. Accompagnato da fodero rigido ad innesto automatico con belt-lock.

La serie Task stata studiata per tutti i lavori di taglio di uso quotidiano.

La lama parzialmente simmetrica con arrotatura piana su entrambi i lati. La parte incavata della lama dopo la guardia, che separa la parte affilata dal manico, stata realizzata per alloggio del dito indice durante l'utilizzo, creando un punto di grip vicino alla parte affilata per un miglior controllo durante l'utilizzo del coltello.

Questa caratteristica, insieme al grip d'appoggio sul dorso del coltello, permette una miglior presa evitando al contempo lo scivolamento della mano sulla lama. In questo modo possibile effettuare la maggior parte dei lavori di taglio con una pressione superiore.

The design of this military knife, sponsored by COFS (Special Forces Operative Command) in the person of General Bertolini, had already been suggested by some collectors of white weapons of the time. The restyling of the famous "paratrooper assault dagger mod. 1939 ", constitutes an important piece of Italian military history.

The knife, while borrowing the line, the structure and the proportions from the original, has been strengthened, enriched with functional modifications and made with materials with modern military specifications. The result of these few modifications is an extremely functional and effective dagger. The sheath is ankle-shaped to be worn as Italian paratroopers usually wear a bayonet.

The 39-09 COMBAT version is the compact version with 160mm blade and side sheath.
