Nino Morittu - Knifemaker from Silanus, Province of Nuoro

Nino Morittu creates unique knives, pieces of rare artisanal beauty designed, drawn and finished personally. Each knife is a masterpiece of exceptional craftsmanship, demonstrating his skill in the art of knifemaking. His works, regularly exhibited at various knife shows, have gained wide recognition from collectors and amateurs alike. Morittu prefers the use of C70 type steels and does not produce in large quantities, keeping each piece exclusive thanks to his meticulous artisanal method.

The precision in the details makes his knives almost perfect, testifying to a deep love for work well done. Aesthetically superb, they represent excellent craftsmanship and a passion for quality materials. Morittu's creations are exhibited in internationally renowned museums such as Albacete in Spain, Montreal in Canada, as well as in the United States and Berlin, Germany.

Renowned for his perfectionism, Morittu is often compared to Calaresu, another master knifemaker known for his attention to detail. A distinctive feature of his work is the exclusive use of "paired" horns for the handles, ensuring that there are never any visual disparities between the scales.

This Pattada constitutes the now historical interpretation of the Sardinian knife made by Consiglio. The handle formed by two halves fixed with a row of rivets and the absence of a real spring are typical of the original model, but the line, the shape of the surfaces, the use of bovine horn are influenced by the Scarperian tradition. Consigli has long linked its business to supplies for Sardinia, so much so that their Pattada have now become "Sardinian by adoption".
