Expat has traveled thousands of miles around the Third World, sometimes with the ESEE team, but always with ESEE products. From armored caravans in Colombia and expeditions to the Himalayas, to earthquakes in El Salvador and hunting in the Balkans, ESEE knives have been a constant companion. He has been a student, translator and instructor for Randall's Adventure Training. This Ka-Bar 1217, made in 1991, is a commemorative knife designed to mark the 50th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This surprise attack, conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy, aimed to destroy the U.S. Pacific Fleet and prevent a rapid response to Japanese expansion. The raid claimed the lives of about 2,400 people, including military personnel and civilians, and led the United States to enter World War II, declaring war on Japan the following day.

The Ka-Bar 1217, with its high-carbon steel blade and leather ring handle, has the same design as the legendary Ka-Bar knife used by U.S. soldiers during the conflict. The blade is engraved with the 50th anniversary logo and a symbolic image of Pearl Harbor, making the knife a collector's item and a tribute to the historical memory of the event. The Ka-Bar 1217 is not just a tool but a mark of honor and respect for the victims of the attack and the heroes who contributed to the victory of the United States during World War II.

Unlike the standard models, here we have engraving from the right side of the blade, hand-molded leather washers with an aged look, and even the scabbard is made like the 1940s models, with darker leather and steel staple points in addition to the traditional contrasting cream-colored stitching.

The Black Caiman is a tactical knife that Extrema Ratio, the official supplier of the Comsubin, developed and delivered to the G.O.I. (Gruppo Operativo Incursori) of the Italian Navy. Its name evokes and pays homage to the heroic Black Caimans of the Piave, a department of Royal Navy Arditi and other components on a volunteer basis, who during World War I swam across the Piave River to carry out raids into enemy territory.

The titanium clip can be positioned at three different angles on either side to allow for maximum customization of the port. Its shape is designed to minimize the bulk of the grip outside the pocket.

Among its features, in addition to the carbide glass breaker, is a safety, which when engaged, preserves against a dangerous accidental closing of the blade.

The M23 Ranger Cub knife features a 6.5-centimeter carbon steel blade with an induction-hardened edge at 62 HRC. Remember that carbon steel always requires some care, so keep the blade clean and wash and dry it after each use. You can also apply a little oil to the blade from time to time. With proper care, corrosion is kept at bay and the blade remains intact.

The handle material is TPV, thermoplastic vulcanized, a type of rubber-like plastic material that resists wear, impact, chemicals and temperature changes almost indefinitely. The secure grip remains firm even in wet conditions.

Thanks to the Kydex sheath, the knife can be easily carried on the belt in a horizontal position.
