The Amphibian is a true Marfione classic dating back over 20 years. It comes from a bygone era when Microtech knives could be both automatic and manual--in one. This sturdy reinterpretation of the sleeper lock features Microtech's distinctive stepped pattern, made famous by the Ultratech series trigger switches. The wide blade cutout provides ample room for reverse middle finger movement and standard slow-rotation thumb opening, with or without gloves. If neither is preferred, simply pull down on the RAM-LOK and the blade opens with a flick of the wrist. Injection-molded handles offer excellent grip potential with both standard and inverted grips. Microtech's Select-Fire is their 2011 offering in the D/A (Dual Action) market. While there are numerous Dual Action offerings among manufacturers, this design won the Most Innovative award at the 2011 Blade Show. This model features a button for automatic deployment of the side opening blade, a large liner lock, oversized thumb stud for manual deployement, index choil for higher grip allowing precision cutting, anti-slip thumb grooves, and a pocket clip. Microtech's Select-Fire comes with a tool to lock the knife's automatic capability rendering it a manual only operating knife.
