Fallkniven Three Kronor TK1

The “Three Kronor” line blends the latest martensitic technologies with the ancient roots of the Swedish royal family.
In fact, these knives are the only ones that can boast the royal symbol of three crowns placed on the blade and on the beautiful wooden box that contains the knife and sheath.
The rolled steel used is currently one of the best industrial steels on the market and is composed of an inner sheet of SGPS from powder, a steel already used for the U2 model, at 62HRC coupled with two outer sheaths of VG2. The knives thus reveal exceptional cutting, penetration and edge-holding qualities.

Fällkniven AB celebrates its 40th anniversary in the international knife market with a special version of its bestseller, the F1 Pilot survival knife, now made of high-quality Swedish steel (Elmax). This special model originates from 1987, when the Swedish Air Force commissioned Fällkniven to develop a new survival knife for the technical environment of the JAS 39 Griffin system.

The first delivery of thousands of F1 knives to the Swedish Armed Forces took place in August 1995, and sales to the civilian market began the following year. The success was remarkable: Fällkniven introduced an innovative philosophy for survival knives, in stark contrast to the outdated technologies that had dominated the development of combat and survival knives since World War II.

The taiga knives are distinctive hunting and all-round knives for the demanding user. As shown in the design, TH1 is a handmade knife with a handle in the very exclusive desert ironwood (lat. Olneya tesota). This species is not listed in CITES Annexes or the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species and is therefore legal to use. Like all natural materials, it varies in texture and color, making each knife an individual creation. A beautifully veined pattern may look attractive but a straight, patterned handle is actually stronger. Desert ironwood, which grows in the southwestern United States, has a somewhat peculiar quality – it is heavier than water, its density is 1.2 kg/dm³ which means it will sink. If you want to maintain or even increase the luster in the wood, treat it with log oil, furniture oil, bench oil or other type of wood oil containing linseed oil. The fact that the blade goes full width through the handle (so-called full tang blade) results in a very strong and reliable construction and gives a comfortable weight to the knife.

DC3 Combination Sharpener

Description

The DC3 is a compact sharpening stone made with a combination of diamond and ceramic, designed to meet all sharpening needs. The diamond side allows for quick sharpening even of the hardest steels, while the ceramic side, made of synthetic sapphires, provides fine and precise finishing.

A key advantage of these materials is that, although they wear down with use, they retain a flat surface—essential for effective and consistent sharpening. Being among the hardest materials available, they can also sharpen high-hardness sintered steels.

Grits

Diamond: 25 microns / ~600 grit – maintenance sharpening and moderate material removal
Ceramic: 5 microns / ~3000 grit – edge finishing and pre-polishing

Use

No lubricants required. For cleaning, use warm water and liquid soap. The surface may feel rough on first use, but it will smooth out quickly.
