Staub's oval cocotte is a traditional French pot for slow cooking and preparing delicious stews and goulash. It is made of cast iron and features a matte-black interior enameling. Enameled cast iron is particularly good for slow cooking because of its excellent thermal properties that give the meat a beautiful texture and bring out the flavor of all the ingredients.

First Use:

Rinse the Staub pan with hot water.
Apply a little oil and heat gently for 10 minutes.
Allow to cool. The oil will penetrate into the pores of the glaze, forming a protective base.

Usage Tips:

Wash with warm water and dry thoroughly before storing.
Always apply a little oil to the bottom before starting cooking.
Avoid abrasive products, scouring pads, and continued use of the dishwasher.
