Extrema Ratio Misericordia Desert, which preserves intact all the features of the famous Misericordia model adopted by the 4th Alpine Parachute Regiment, derives from the commemorative dagger made on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the 4th Alpine Regiment and the 70th since the founding of the Alpine Paratroopers.

It is a tactical-type fixed-blade knife designed for those instances when the knife must be extremely light and compact. The new desert coloring also makes this model available in a shade in line with the most common needs of modern operational departments.

The blade is milled from Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 58 HRC for the best balance of edge retention and strength, is 118 mm long, 4mm thick, and has a flat edge. The weight of the knife is just 87g. The profile is a spear point type, with a full-length shank that makes it even lighter and with a ¾-length false counterblade. The finish is a stone washed type.

The knife's polymer handle features classic Extrema Ratio shells that make for a more secure grip and is attached to the tang by a through-screw. On the rear end the handle flows connecting with a wide ring equipped with a "skull crusher" appendage: a ring that allows the use of martial arts techniques and ensures the hand a very solid grip. Sethlans Expeditions, as well as the Sethlans model from which it derives, is a fixed blade work knife designed to deal with a wide range of situations, but also as a backup blade. The Sethlans Expeditions has been designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, Master Advanced F.I.S.S. (Federazione italiana survival sportivo e sperimentale) instructor.

Sethlans Expeditions has a Böhler N690 steel blade heat treated to 58 HRC with MIL-C-13924 burnishing and stone washed surface treatment (Dark Stone finish). The knife comes with desert colored G10 grips that feature the ergonomic design characteristic of Extrema Ratio handles. They can be removed to free the skeleton structure of the knife, allowing maximum lightness with minimum thickness.

For lovers of extreme customization, the full-tang structure allows the handle to be covered with paracord. The sheath is composed of a very light and minimalist Kydex part. It can be disassembled and can be adapted to both left- and right-handed people. The addition of an optional belt clip allows both vertical and horizontal positioning of the knife and makes the sheath much more versatile than the textile version. It is equipped with a mini pouch with M.O.L.L.E. system containing paracord with flammable filament to be used in case of emergency and/or critical weather conditions and a Firesteel for lighting fires.

Kreios Expeditions, as well as the Kreios model from which it derives, has been designed and developed thanks to the collaboration with the Master instructor F.I.S.S. (Federazione Italiana Survival Sportivo e Sperimentale) Daniele Dal Canto. It is defined by its creator as a sort of "off the road" of cutting tools, therefore not a specific disposable tool, but a multi-tasking tool, extremely versatile and designed to cope with many uses.

Thanks to its ergonomics, weight and size, Kreios Expeditions is suitable to open gaps in the thick vegetation, especially where it is necessary to take distance, for safety reasons, from thorny or harmful essences. Thanks to its robustness, it is an effective machete even in the heaviest field work. Combining the 32 cm of the "full flat" cutting edge, the 11° forward inclination of the blade and the 630 gr. of its weight, you get a tool with extraordinary cutting capabilities that does not fear bending.

Kreios Expeditions brings modern geometry and materials combined with the lines and effectiveness of blades typical of the Malaysian and African tradition, creating an ideal tool for field work but also, if necessary, for defense/offense. The Black S600 version uses Böhler S600 steel. This steel is used in industrial manufacturing to make metalworking tools and in mold making.

The high content of Molybdenum, Tungsten and a good presence of Vanadium in its chemical composition, give it excellent qualities of hardness, wear resistance and toughness. The presence of Cobalt favors the formation of small carbides uniformly distributed, a characteristic that enhances and elevates wear resistance.

Satre S600 is hardened and cryogenically treated, thus reaching an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC. This gives it great wear resistance and the ability to guarantee the cutting edge of the wire for a long time.

Böhler S600 has 4.5% Chromium, which makes it a carbon steel and therefore can cause rust and oxidation if neglected. To better protect it from atmospheric agents, we have chosen the new external coating EXP DARK.

The high hardness and resistance to wear and abrasion, make this steel not easy to sharpen.
