SHIN in Japanese means ‘trust’.

The SHIN is one of the largest folders in the Rockstead catalog and showcases all the typical and characteristic elements of the brand: aluminum handle with a pearl-radiant design, hardened anodization at 400 Vickers, and an insert of high-quality stingray leather (Samekawa).

This is a durable knife with strong cutting capabilities that maintains its edge for a long time. Even when used for rigorous cuts, the blade glides securely thanks to its particular sharpening.

The blade indeed has a HONZUKURI sharpening, convex on both sides, following the tradition of Japanese swords; this makes it both very sharp and sturdy, allowing it to cleanly cut a sheet of paper even after 1000 cuts through a very abrasive and resistant hemp rope.

Previously available only as a custom knife, the Arbiter features a 9" bowie-style clip point blade with an elegant curved primary cutting edge that flows into a raised tip with devastating penetrating power. W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company è stata creata a inizio secolo, in un tempo in cui i coltelli tascabili erano indispensabili tanto quanto un orologio. Nel corso degli anni l'azienda si è affermata come una azienda leader nel lancio sul mercato di materiali nuovi e design innovativi.

Le radici dell'azienda risalgono al 1889, quando dei fratelli intraprendenti, William Russell (W.R.), Jean, John e Andrew, nella famiglia Case iniziarono a vendere coltelli artigianali dal retro di un furgone nella parte settentrionale dello stato di New York. Nel gennaio 1900, i fratelli costituirono la Case Brothers Cutlery Company, fondando così il primo marchio di famiglia Case.

J.R. Case, che chiamò l'azienda con il nome del padre, W.R., costituì la W.R. Case & Sons nella forma in cui oggi è conosciuta.
