More and more consumers buy with their eyes first and perceive details that we sometimes don't pay attention to. A successful and appealing idea comes from the so-called 'carving' of fruit and vegetables. It seems that the first evidence of the art of fruit and vegetable carving dates back to the end of the 14th century in Thailand. During royal celebrations, fruit sculptures were placed in crowns made of woven banana leaves and given to the river as a sign of purification and thanksgiving. The idea is said to have come from the emperor's wife, who was the first to prepare a buffet of fruit and vegetables transformed into flowers and animals. The secret to achieving impressive sculptures is to buy products with a solid consistency and to use lemon juice to prevent the compositions from turning black. Carrots, tomatoes, pineapples, radishes... are products that stimulate very creative carving. And in this season definitely melon and watermelon.
