Nino Morittu - Knifemaker from Silanus, Province of Nuoro

Nino Morittu creates unique knives, pieces of rare artisanal beauty designed, drawn and finished personally. Each knife is a masterpiece of exceptional craftsmanship, demonstrating his skill in the art of knifemaking. His works, regularly exhibited at various knife shows, have gained wide recognition from collectors and amateurs alike. Morittu prefers the use of C70 type steels and does not produce in large quantities, keeping each piece exclusive thanks to his meticulous artisanal method.

The precision in the details makes his knives almost perfect, testifying to a deep love for work well done. Aesthetically superb, they represent excellent craftsmanship and a passion for quality materials. FRANCO VERNAZZA is a hobbyist knifemaker registered with A.C.H.I. (Associazione Coltellinai Hobbisti Italiani) and this creation of his is loosely inspired by Robert "Bob" Loveless' Bad Bob's Knife, his personal knife. Loveless' original was used during his time in Lawndale and is a unique piece of great historical importance. For that very reason it is so famous and published in tittie texts devoted to vintage custom cutlery.

History of the Model
The Model 7 was designed as a scaled-down version of the Model 3 Hunter.

Almost immediately, the idea of a scaled-down version of the new Hunter dawned on Bo Randall as an ideal knife for his fellow anglers. An avid fisherman since his youth, Bo regarded this new knife as a labor of love and immediately set to work on the project. At first he tried 4- and 4.5-inch blades, but then opted for the 4 1/2-inch one. Bo wanted the right handle for cleaning brook trout and similar sized fish, so he reduced the size of the handle of the new Hunter and changed its shape. Naturally, he called this model the "Fisherman," and some early prototypes with 4-inch blades were delivered to some dealers during the latter part of September 1945.
