Said Lorenzo the Magnificent (Florence, 1 January 1449 - Careggi, 8 April 1492), he was lord of Florence from 1469 to his death, the third of the Medici dynasty. He was also a writer, patron, poet and humanist, as well as one of the most significant politicians of the Renaissance, both for having incarnated the ideal of the humanist prince, and for the very careful management of power.

Although iron was a tougher material than bronze it would frequently bend. Damascus, or pattern welded steel, was used to make the blade strong enough to withstand the rigors of combat. Early Viking swords were forged from layers of iron interwoven with strands of steel to produce a very tough sword. This sword is based on an original circa 850-900 AD sword discovered in Finland. The Damascus Viking Sword is made of high carbon Damascus steel. The blade is polished with the fuller acid etched to bring out the beautiful Damascus pattern. The pommel and crossguard are made of solid steel and the grip is leather wrapped wood. Includes a matching wood scabbard with a black leather covering and steel mounts. A very nice example of a true Viking sword.

The inspiration behind the KEY-BAR was the annoyance of the noise and disorganization of the many keys that creator Michael Taylor carries daily. In his workshop one weekend he decided to do something about his problem. After many hours of research, trial and error and several prototypes later, he arrived at the current version of the KEY-BAR.
